Tillage is done. NH3 begins. It hasn't rained any significant amount in about a month now, and the ground is very hard. Compared to last year, the STX is running 1 to 2 gears slower this year simply due to how hard the knives are pulling. There are 50lb chunks of dirt behind the machine - it isn't breaking up nice.

Tillage is progressing nicely. The chisel plow and disk are both getting over some acres.

Finished the soybeans today. When the last field was done, we went to set the grain header off and found smoke coming from the 7120. There were some hot embers on the left side of machine near the batteries. We cleaned the hot stuff off put water on everything else.

It's just like cocaine. Your dealer gives you a little bit for free, and it's just enough to make you want more. We had to give the draper back, since it was also going to be demonstrated by a neighbor. So we're pushing the 2020 around again, and when the beans "pop" and hit the windshield, it annoys me more. An auger head requires you to be forceful with the reel; a draper doesn't. However, do you know what really make you sober up? Figure out what the difference in header loss is, multiply that by the number of acres you go over, and then figure that at $10 beans. Gulp.
