They are currently still in Hemingford, Nebraska. This is the best wheat that they have cut on their harvest run. The dry land wheat is making 35-65 bu/ac, and the irrigated is making over 100 bu/ac. They have ran out of dry wheat to cut, and won't have any wheat that is ready to go now again for 5-7 days. They currently have 3 combines in their crew. Three combines went to home to Valentine to cut irrigated wheat on their farm.

They have 1,000 acres left to cut at Hemingford, and then crew that Alex is with, their combines will go onto North Dakota. The crew that is with Alex may go to Valentine to help out there, if not they will head on up to North Dakota.

Break downs have been very minimal. Alex said they had to replace the teeth on the reels from bouncing. On combine #1 they had to replace the hydraulic pump.

4 combines left last week and headed down to the King Ranch in Texas to start cutting milo. They took with them a 8410 tractor and a 1084 Brent grain cart. Alex was unsure how many trucks went too.

One truck driver dumped a load of seed wheat in some other farmers bin.

That's not cool.

On Alex's combine, as of last night, he had 165 rotor hours and 226 engine hours, with a total of 3,100 acres on his machine.

He plans on being back in Russell around August 18th so he can start school on the 22nd! He has a LOT of pictures, and is now taking videos and he will post everything he said when he gets home. He apologizes for that, but just can't get-r-done now!

Will get another update when something changes....
